Jedi – Available for Adoption
Name: Jedi
Age: 5 yrs
Sex: Male
Weight: 22 lbs
Altered: Yes
Previous Life: Owner Surrender
Good with dogs/cats/kids: Yes/Unknown/Yes and any children must be older and familiar with dogs.
Likes: Chews like Nylabone, antlers, balls, plush
Dislikes: Strangers. Stranger danger! He does not do well meeting new strangers and proper introductions will need to be taken seriously and with time/patience. He will bark and has been aggressive in his past due to being taunted while locked in a kennel.
Loud noises can also startle him.
House-trained: He does do good but has a stubborn side.
Crate trained: Yes
Fenced yard required: Yes, and this is not negotiable
Special Needs/Notes: Since he is not good with new people, it requires taking time to introduce him and letting people know so they do not try to pet him. He has bitten in the past due to fear. Once he is given time, he settles down and is okay with the new people. We have been working hard with him on positive reinforcement with treats and praise with new people. He has been doing really well as he is food motivated.
Greetings from Jedi!
I am a very active, loving pug. I can get into trouble because I am too smart for my own good as my foster mom tells me. I like to sneak food off surfaces that I can reach. I also have a small obsession with toilet paper. Sometimes I like to get the roll and take bites of it plus unroll it. The more activities I get to do like go for walks, play time like fetch, the better behaved I am. I need someone to keep me active and keep me engaged. Once you get past my bark, I am a big marshmallow inside. I love to cuddle and love to sleep with my humans. I like to follow my people to keep them safe and that includes the bathroom. I really enjoy all toys. I love balls to play fetch with and also plushies. I love to chew on hard things like yak cheese, nylabones and antlers.
I do not do well meeting new people, but I have been really working on it. I have a very big bark and that can be intimidating to people. My foster family let’s those coming over know how I am and makes sure they do not reach down to pet right away. They also make sure to give them treats so I can show how good I am and sit to receive a treat. Once I settle down, I am an awesome buddy. I love going for walks with my people. I do not pull and really listen to commands. Overall, I am a pretty great guy who does require continued work on my manners. May the force be with you!
